The official title of Nivin Pauly’s 50th film of Malayalam cinema has been revealed as ‘Vijayam’. The makers revealed the title and the teaser was released on June 27. The film is written, directed and edited by Alphonse Puthren.

The title announcement came through a four-minute video produced as a short film. The video shows Alphonse Puthren waiting for someone to give him a ride. While waiting, he spends time taking close-up photos of ants and insects, a fun nod to his well-known filmmaking style.

Soon Nivin Pauly arrives on a bike wearing a stylish racing outfit. He told Puthren that he was trying to find him because they had “work to do.”

Nivin Pauly and Alphonse Puthren first worked together at Neram in 2013.
The film introduced Puthren as director and received good response. They later collaborated on the film Premam in 2015, which became a huge hit and earned cult status among film lovers.

Apart from Vijayam, Nivin Pauly has several films in various stages of production. These include ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’, a romantic comedy with Mamitha Baiju, ‘Benz’, in which he plays the villain Walter, and ‘Dear Student’, which also stars Nayanthara.

Meanwhile, Alphonse Puthren appeared in Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros and also appeared in Sarvam Maya. Now he is back behind the camera with ‘Vijayam’.
