‘Tumbbad stayed with me’: Alia Bhatt reacts to Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui joining ‘Tumbbad 2’
Actor-producer Sohum Shah has officially confirmed Alia Bhatt’s entry into the world of ‘Tumbbad 2’, making one of the biggest casting announcements for the highly anticipated sequel. The actress revealed the news on social media by sharing a series of photos with Alia, welcoming her into the dark fantasy world that gained cult status with the original film.
Alia’s addition comes after the makers had previously confirmed the casting of Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Sohum Shah took to Instagram to introduce Alia Bhatt as the newest member of the world of Tumbad. The actor shared a set of photos that show the two against the series’ signature red background, a nod to the dark and mysterious world that awaits fans. Sharing the pictures, Sohum wrote, “A new chapter unfolds. Welcome to #Tumbbad2, @aliaabhatt.”

“Tumbad 2” expands the mythology Hastar
Earlier this year, the makers also confirmed that Nawazuddin Siddiqui would be joining the sequel, making him another major addition to the cast. His entrance was revealed through a special poster, sparking much discussion among fans of the original film.
Directed by Adesh Prasad, Tumbbad 2 will continue to explore the mythology surrounding the cursed god Hastar. The sequel is expected to build on the disturbing folklore introduced in the first film while taking viewers deeper into its supernatural world.The makers have scheduled ‘Tumbbad 2’ to hit theaters on December 3, 2027.Apart from ‘Tumbbad 2’, Alia Bhatt is currently busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’, in which she stars alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
