Indian sensation Yash has finally addressed the growing curiosity surrounding his long absence from the silver screen since the 2022 blockbuster ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. Speaking at the prestigious CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, the actor said his transition from regional star to global icon necessitated a slower, more nuanced approach to filmmaking.
With two of the most anticipated projects in Indian cinema, the gritty gangster drama ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ and the blockbuster ‘Ramayana’ on his plate, Yash asserted that creating ‘world-class cinema’ cannot be rushed. However, while fans are eager for his return, the actor also admitted that the sheer scale of these productions has him looking forward to some much-needed personal time.
Yash talks about taking a short break after his films
During his recent interaction with Collider at CinemaCon 2026, Yash finally spoke about the long gap and the possibility of taking a break after completing his upcoming films.
“It’s as if I just want to take a break. I’ve been constantly working on two films,” the actor said candidly.Yash admitted how his fans have missed him on screen since 2022, but explained that his current path requires a great deal of patience and commitment. He stated that because his upcoming projects are designed for a global stage, they require a high level of careful planning and intense collaboration.
Yash opens up about his busy schedule
During the same interaction, Yash also clarified that he has not been idle despite staying away from theatres. “Although I have not been on screen for a while, I am constantly working,” he said during the interview. The actor spoke about how difficult it was to shoot films like ‘Ramayana’ due to the high level of technology, costumes, preparation and special effects required. He also discussed work-life balance.
Speaking about family time, Yash said, “I somehow manage family time,” and added, “Maybe I want to spend some quality time with my family, so maybe I will take a break.”
