Sidney Sweeney’s upcoming sequel the maid He is putting down roots.
Lionsgate announced Monday that Paul Feig will direct The secret of the domestic maid It is scheduled for a wide theatrical release on December 17, 2027. The film adaptation of Freda Macfadyen’s novel sees Sweeney reprise her role from last year’s hit thriller, while Kirsten Dunst joins the franchise. Michele Morrone also returns from the first film in which she plays Enzo.
The secret of the domestic maid The film follows Millie (Sweeney), the heroine of the first film, who agrees to provide a home for a woman she is never allowed to see. In the end, Millie discovers the truth behind the closed door that hides secrets even darker than those she keeps to herself.

Hidden Pictures’ Carly Elter and Alex Young serve as executive producers on the new film, while Fifty-Fifty’s Kylie McGregor will co-produce. Chelsea Kugawa and Maria Ascanio are overseeing the studio’s sequel.
In his review of the maid to Hollywood Reportersenior film critic David Rooney wrote, “If you’re keen on escaping the family over the holidays with good-looking entertainment full of filth and gore-soaked perversion, look no further.”
