The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has set dates for its final two shows, the 99th and 100th Academy Awards on ABC.In an official social media post, the Academy sent out a “Save the Date” invitation with the caption: “Mark your calendar! The 99th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2027.”
Nominations will be announced on Thursday, January 21, 2027.”
According to reports, these will be the last two concerts to be broadcast on the network for a long time before the show moves to YouTube in 2029. They will also be the two shows to be held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Along with announcing the ceremony dates, the Academy also released a list of key dates that filmmakers and other Oscar nominees should take into consideration. 100th Academy Awards
The 100th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2028, according to the official post. However, the organizers also added that all dates for the 99th and 100th Academy Awards are subject to change.According to the report, ABC and the Film Academy will continue to air the screening at the earlier timeslot of 7 PM ET/4 PM PT.
The Oscars are leaving Hollywood
The 2029 edition will instead be held at The Peacock Theater, part of the massive LA LIVE complex, next to Crypto.com Arena, home of the Los Angeles Lakers.“For the 101st Academy Awards and beyond, the Academy looks forward to collaborating closely with (owners) AEG to make LA LIVE the perfect backdrop for our global celebration of cinema, both for our live audience in the theater and for movie fans around the world,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor.
The 10-year deal with AEG comes as the concert leaves network television in the US, to instead be broadcast around the world via YouTube.It also marks the end of a decades-long ceremony held at the Dolby, which is located a stone’s throw from the Roosevelt Hotel, where the first Academy Awards were handed out in 1929.

The 98th Academy Awards ceremony last month saw a 9% drop in voting rates after several years of gains. Conan O’Brien returned to host the show, which saw One Battle After Another win Best Picture and Director, Michael B. Jordan win Best Actor for Sinners, and Jessie Buckley take Best Actress for Hamnet.
