Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding: Venue, 1,000 guest list, timing and everything we know so far

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding festivities are expected to come to a grand finale on Friday with a lavish reception at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where nearly 1,000 guests are expected to attend.

Although the celebrity couple has remained mum about their wedding plans, preparations at the iconic venue and official city permits have sparked widespread speculation that one of the biggest celebrity events of the year is underway.According to documents obtained by The Associated Press, New York City’s permit office approved a special event permit for Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, allowing for a two-day private celebration.

Documents show that the celebrations began with an intimate gathering on Thursday before culminating in the main reception on Friday night.

A special rehearsal dinner kicks off the festivities

About 100 guests attended the private event on Thursday evening, which is believed to be a rehearsal dinner for the couple, the agency reported. Guests reportedly arrived in black SUVs through a tent entrance specially constructed to protect them from the public eye.Overnight, workers transformed the venue for the larger celebration by installing additional entry points, security infrastructure and an access area for VIP guests.

Official permit documents reviewed by the news agency indicate that Friday’s event is scheduled to start at 5pm local time and may continue until 4am on Saturday. The venue has approval to host up to 1,000 attendees.

Traffic restrictions imposed around Madison Square Garden

The authorities announced widespread road closures and tightened security measures around Madison Square Garden to accommodate the event. Many streets surrounding the venue will remain closed to traffic, while pedestrian movement will also be restricted in parts of the area over the Independence Day weekend, according to permit details. The increased security presence has attracted large crowds of fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer and NFL star as the celebrations continue.

A star-studded guest list is expected

While organizers have not released an official guest list, media reports indicate that several of Swift’s close friends from the entertainment industry are expected to attend. Celebrity guests include Selena Gomez, Jack Antonoff, Lena Dunham, the Haim sisters, Zoë Kravitz, Emma Stone, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper.Reports also indicated that music legends Stevie Nicks, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney could perform during the celebrations, although their appearance has not been confirmed.

New York embraces the celebrations

The reported wedding became a major talking point throughout New York City. Mayor Zahran Mamdani joined in the excitement by sharing a Spotify playlist featuring some of his favorite Taylor Swift songs, including Love Story (Taylor’s version), Cruel Summer, Delicate, my Tears ricochet, and I Don’t Wanna Live Forever, according to local media reports.Madison Square Garden also holds modern significance for Swift, who was seen there during the NBA Finals alongside actress Mariska Hargitay and members of the band Haim. Although the venue did not host an Eras Tour concert, it is now said to serve as the backdrop for one of the biggest moments in the singer’s personal life.
