Sunday’s World Cup final will be the most star-studded tournament match in FIFA history, with New York-New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, packed with celebrities from film, television, music, sports and more.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump shared a VIP suite with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum, Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, King Felipe VI of Spain, Queen Letizia, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Spanish Football Federation President Rafael Lauzanne.
Cruise, who is already on the promotional trail for his upcoming film diggerHe played a prominent role in the celebrations, as he appeared on the field to deliver the opening speech. He spoke during the star-studded pre-match ceremony which also saw performances by Post Malone with Swae Lee and Jennifer Hudson with the national anthem and Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini and Nicole Scherzinger with the World Cup anthem ‘Desire’.
“More than 30 days ago, 48 countries began a journey,” Cruz said. “They crossed oceans, they crossed borders, they crossed cultures, and together they showed us why this game belongs in the world. We witnessed greatness from three countries across and from every corner of the globe. We shared moments of joy, moments of hope and moments we will never forget. Football is a language spoken without words, a force that unites people, turning strangers into friends and reminding us of what we all have in common.”
“As we gather for a final act, let’s celebrate the tournament that brought the world together. Let’s celebrate each other. This is football. This is unity. This is greatness,” Cruz concluded.
