The events of the episodes leading up to the end are filled with action and blood. The series begins with an eventful road trip for a married couple, Rachel Harkin (Camila Morrone) and Nicky Cunningham (Adam DeMarco), to meet his parents for the first time.
While the drive to the secluded house is eventful enough, when you get there, it feels as if something is wrong. Z. Boston then also explains what happened in the end while speaking to TIME.One thing leads to another, and viewers see Harkin begin to believe that the house she lives in is not right, and that she will be killed and sacrificed by her boyfriend’s family. “For the first half of the show, Rachel believes the threat is external,” she wrote, explaining Harkin’s character and actions.
Then by midnight, I realized it was coming from within. She believes that this family is out to get her, and that there is something evil in the forest. Then you realize it’s actually her. It’s her doubt that’s causing all this anxiety. There’s something interesting about wanting to blame others but eventually realizing you have to dig deeper within yourself to confront your fears.

Rachel Harkin discovers the truth
The show progresses, and Harkin learns that the Cunningham family is not the problem; While talking to an old man at the bar as they headed home, she stopped and started talking to her. He reveals that he is her grandfather and that her family is cursed. The Harkins are bound to die a horrific death on their wedding night if they don’t marry their best friend.The old man then explains that he once fell in love; But the wedding night never passed, and the curse that had been on another family was passed on to her own.
