SkyShowtime has unveiled its first original animated series, a family adventure Hidden islandswhich will premiere in the European streaming joint venture between Paramount and Sky owner Comcast.
The series is written by Madeleine Bernadotte and Karini Gustafsson-Teixeira, who have co-authored the children’s book Stella Walser“Encourages children to explore nature and connect with the outside world.” It will consist of 20 seven-minute episodes.
Hidden islands The film tells the story of three children who “end up on a mythical group of islands and soon realize that this is no ordinary place,” the synopsis says. “The islands are a little out of sync with the rest of the world, and they hold a big secret – a secret that will change their lives and could save the world! The three kids must use all their wits and work together to find hidden clues that can help them unravel the mystery and return home.”

Bernadotte shared: “Carini Gustafsson-Teixeira and I began developing this project during the COVID-19 crisis, inspired by our shared love of nature, children, and storytelling. Our goal was to create an animated story that would evoke a sense of adventure while conveying important lessons about sustainability, survival, and caring for the planet.”
The anime series is produced by Oya Copenhagen, the producer behind it Mia’s magic playgroundWith executive producers Camilla Hammer and Sarita Christensen. The series is directed by Peter Eggeberg and written by Miles McLeod, Evgenia Golubeva, and Bill Mueller.
