ABC has secured two more series for its 2026-27 schedule.
The network revamped its comedy lineup Scrubs and Transmission gears (both produced by 20th Television) for the upcoming season. Both shows performed strongly for the network on Wednesdays this season Transmission gears It airs in the first half of the season and Scrubs Recovery in the spring.
Multi camera Transmission gearsstarring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings, will air its third season in 2026-2027. It was ABC’s most-watched comedy in linear ratings this season, averaging 5.4 million viewers with seven days of DVR playback. With the inclusion of live streaming, the show grew to about 7 million viewers per episode after a week.
the Scrubs Revival will get a second season on the network. It debuted to 9 million viewers across platforms during its first seven days and grew to 11 million in Nielsen ratings over 35 days for all platforms. In linear ratings only, it was also ABC’s No. 1 comedy among adults 18-49 this season.
With these two pickups, ABC has renewed all but one of its current scripted shows for next season — the first-year drama only R. J. Decker It remains forgotten. The network previously ordered new seasons of 911, 911: Nashville, Abbott Elementary, Grey’s Anatomy, High Potential, The Rookie and Will Trent.
Allen executive produces Transmission gears With Michelle Nader, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, John Baskin, Jim Patterson, Bob Deeley and John Amodeo. Dennings is a producer.
Scrubs Creator Bill Lawrence executive produces the revival with showrunner Aseem Batra; Jeff Ingold and Lisa Katzer of Lawrence’s Doozer Productions; Main actors Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke; And Randall Keenan Winston.
