The ‘Ramayana’ team has fans counting down the days until the big trailer launches this week. While counting down to July 24 when the official trailer debuts online, fans have been busy turning concept art for the film into an impressive first look.Following the grand event held in New Delhi on Saturday, the makers of the film unveiled a special comic book offering an in-depth look into the mythology-inspired world of the film. The comic book features detailed concept art for the main characters, kingdoms, and locations, giving fans a closer look at the ambitious adaptation. Soon after images from the comics appeared online, social media users began transforming illustrations into photorealistic images using AI-powered image creation tools.Among the most widely shared entertainments is that of Sai Pallavi’s Sita, whose comic book appearance has been transformed into live-action-style regal portraits complete with intricate jewelry and traditional clothing. While one of them sees her in a red sari decorated with gold, the other sees her in a saffron sari with blades in her hands.
Fans have also recreated Yash’s Ravana, depicting the demon king as a warlike warrior pierced by arrows and in his elaborate royal armor.
These images, in turn, were the first looks at the characters, especially after the filmmakers showed only glimpses of them in the “Rama First Look” clip.
Other AI-generated images include Kunal Kapoor’s Lord Indra wearing silver armor alongside Airavata, and Faisal Malik’s Kumbhakarna.
The comic, which was unveiled during the film’s promotional event, also gives readers a detailed introduction to the kingdoms of Ayodhya, Mithila and Lanka, while also revealing illustrations of the characters accompanied by brief biographies and mythological backstories.The featured characters include Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Adinath Kothar as Bharat, Nitish Sharma as Shatrughan, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Shobhana as Kaikesi, Chetan Hansraj as Somali, Anupam Kher as Jatayu, Kajal Aggarwal as Queen Mandodari, Faisal Malik as Kumbhakarna, Mukesh Tiwari as Agastya Mouni and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha.
The book also featured artwork of the Hindu trinity – Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva – as well as detailed illustrations of majestic holy cities, grand architecture, royal courts, and magnificent cityscapes.
Although these images are not official material, fans can expect to see something similar when the first trailer is released online later this week following the film’s big showing at San Diego Comic-Con. Director Nitesh Tiwari, along with Ranbir, Yash and producer Nimit Malhotra, are expected to attend the grand event in the USA, after which the trailer will be released online.The makers of the film have two trailers ready to release. The CBFC awarded both – the 4-minute clip and the 4.15-minute clip – a ‘U’ certificate.
