The team continued filming, and Dern improvised a different line, “I don’t know who you are, but you touched me today. You came to visit me, and now I have to go back to sleep.”
Dern was in Cannes to screen director Mike Mendes’ debut documentary Dearness.
Representatives for Tarantino and Pitt had no immediate comment.
Dern and Pitt have worked with Tarantino before.
