When the paparazzi mentioned Wangchuk, Manara looked visibly puzzled and said, “Main iss baare mein kuch comment nahi karna chahungi. (I don’t want to comment on this)” as the paparazzi continued to ask more questions, including her opinion on the matter.

After noting that ‘3 Idiots’ was not inspired by Sonam Wangchuk, she stood her ground and replied, “Mujhe nahi pata (I don’t know).” When pressed again, Mannara looked at Shiv Thakare with a confused look before saying, “Kya? Muhi nahi pata, sorry (What? I don’t know, sorry.)”
She moved on without continuing the conversation further.

These questions came at a time when Wangchuk was already back in the spotlight. On Saturday, July 18, the activist was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after ending his 20-day indefinite hunger strike. Delhi Police said the treatment step was based on medical advice as well as directions issued by the Delhi High Court.
