Priyanka Chopra mourns the death of Asha Bhosle; He says the singing legend was “one of the greatest gifts music has ever known.”

Priyanka Chopra shared an emotional tribute to late singing legend Asha Bhosle. The actress took to her Instagram account on Sunday, sharing a throwback picture of herself with the late singer and also wrote a note on how Bhosle’s influence has changed the music scene in India.

Chopra wrote a heartfelt tribute to the late star in a note that read: “There are some losses that feel like losing a part of your childhood, your memories, your home. Asha ji was that for so many of us. Her voice was not just a part of Indian music, it was part of the background of our lives. It played in our homes as we grew up, through family celebrations, through heartache, through joy, through quiet and loud moments that became memories before we knew it.”

She continued, “For my generation and many before and after him, she was not just a legend that we admired, but a constant. A voice so eternal that it seemed as if it would always be there. It is difficult to put into words what it means to lose someone whose art helped shape the emotional landscape of an entire nation.”Priyanka concluded her post by saying: “Thank you, Asha Ji, for giving us a lifetime of songs, feelings and beauty. And because it is one of the greatest gifts music has ever known.

Rest in peace. Your voice will live where all true legends live, forever in our hearts.”

Asha Bhosle dies

Asha Bhosle, one of the most influential singers of her time, died on Sunday. The singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday. This was announced by Ashish Shelar, Culture Minister of Maharashtra, outside the hospital. Her last rites will be performed at Shivaji Park on Monday at 4:00 pm.Asha Bhosle has received numerous awards throughout her career for many of her noteworthy songs.

The singer received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000, followed by the Padma Vibhushan Award in 2008.

Priyanka Chopra continues shooting for Varanasi

On the work front, Priyanka will soon be seen in the action-adventure film ‘Varanasi’. The actress will play the lead role in SS Rajamouli’s film which is currently in production. According to reports, the film’s team, which is currently continuing shooting in India, will head to Antarctica to shoot a segment on the Ross Ice Shelf. The team reportedly has a few more months of filming before they can begin post-production work in time for the film’s April 2027 release.
