Pedro Pascal turned heads at the Oscars last month in a Chanel Matthieu Blazy look, which featured a white tuxedo shirt with a large chrysanthemum silk brooch, a feather brooch, and black pants. The look came after the in-demand star appeared front row at Blazy’s Chanel debut, a spring fashion show in Paris (his sister Lux also walked in the show at the Grand Palais).

Outings now mean something more as Pascal has joined the house of Chanel as an ambassador. It is a rare move for Chanel, as the house does not produce menswear, although some of the ready-to-wear is unisex and has been worn in past years by fashion icons such as Pharrell Williams. In announcing the news, Chanel singled out Pascal for how he “continuously defies expectations, effortlessly moves between genres and forges his own path,” praising his charisma, sense of humor and dedication to “bringing people together” that make him a “natural ally” for Chanel.
Even Pascal nodded to a unisex vision in his statement. “I love Mathieu’s vision, which I find incredibly strong, elegant and warm: it shows me how we can exist together, there is something for everyone in their world. I am thrilled and honored to be joining her and look forward to seeing what Mathieu has planned for the future of Chanel. The Maison has a wonderful ability to honor its heritage while maintaining modernity and relevance, and I am excited to be part of that evolving story.”
Blasi praised Pascal as a “wonderful” man and an “incredible” actor. “His kindness, talent and vision for the world are captivating and inspiring. We are delighted to welcome him to the Chanel family and thrilled to embark on this adventure together.”
This news comes during a big year for Pascal, who is coming up next Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu and Avengers: Doomsday. It is expected to arrive in Las Vegas this week during the CinemaCon screening at Caesars Palace.
