NBCUniversal has unveiled an agreement with Starz to make the streaming destination for Outlander and power Perks are available to select Peacock subscribers for $11.99 per month.
With bundling growing in popularity with streaming giants, Starz will now offer the streaming TV service as an add-on subscription to Peacock subscribers on select, premium and premium tiers, it was announced Tuesday.
“This additional Starz subscription expands options for our customers across all three tiers, provides flexibility for subscribers to enhance their experience on Peacock, and allows for deeper engagement with complementary premium content. We’re thrilled to deliver more value to customers and give them the opportunity to access more of what they want to watch directly on our platform,” Will Gonzalez, chief growth and data officer at NBCUniversal Media Group, said in a statement.
NBCU is also looking to boost Peacock’s revenue after years of overspending by major streaming services for new content to sign up new subscribers and retain existing ones — only for Wall Street to question its potential for profitability. Starz Networks President Allison Huffman promoted bundled marriage through Peacock a little more than a year after her company split from Lionsgate to go it alone.
“As a complementary premium service, Starz is designed to be distributed in a way that enhances and expands the value of a broader platform. With our impressive slate of successful original series for women and underrepresented audiences, coupled with our extensive portfolio of premium Pay 1 and library films, Starz is helping to create a more complete and diverse offering for customers,” Hoffman said in another statement.
Starz has sought to grow its streaming subscriber base with new scripted series such as Outlander, Book of Power III: Raising Kanan The upcoming July 2026 premiere of the Starz-owned film battleground, And all this amid continuing pressure on the linear TV customer base. The company is looking to build its content library and take ownership of more originals to increase its overall profitability.
Peacock on the front written offering Law and order and Real Housewives Franchises and movie titles from Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, Illumination, and Focus Features. On Monday, parent Comcast announced the media conglomerate’s plans to separate into two independent, publicly traded companies through a tax-exempt subsidiary of NBCUniversal and Sky.
