Pawan Kalyan cuts his salary for 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' which will clash with 'Dhurandhar- The Revenge'

Pawan Kalyan has reportedly taken a pay cut for ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, accepting around Rs 25 crore to support the makers of the film amid production delays. The actor prioritized producers recovering their investments and suggested a profit-sharing model instead of demanding higher wages. The gesture has generated positive buzz for the film, which is scheduled to clash with ‘Dhurandhar- The Revenge’ on March 19.

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan has wrapped up the shooting of ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, a project that has faced several delays over the past few years. Although filming began in April 2023, the schedule was delayed due to the actor’s excess film commitments and active participation in political activities.

But the team was collaborative from the beginning to the end of production. The film has taken a long time in production, but now, all the hurdles seem to have cleared and Ugadi is all set to release on March 19, creating excitement among fans. The film will clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar-The Revenge at the box office.

Pawan Kalyan gets less pay

In an interesting development, it has been reported that Pawan Kalyan has been paid a minimal amount for the film.

According to Telugu123, the actor is said to have been paid nearly Rs 25 crore for his work in ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, which is much less than the usual remuneration for an actor of his calibre. The report also states that Pawan Kalyan took an advance payment of around Rs 5 crore from the manufacturers nearly a decade ago and continued to receive payments after the project went on floors.

A gesture to support the makers

Instead of demanding a higher salary despite the delay and extended production schedule, Pawan Kalyan chose a different approach.

The actor has reportedly asked the makers to focus on recovering their investments first. Given the increased costs caused by schedule changes and the actor’s political commitments, he decided not to push for additional pay. Instead, he is believed to have told the filmmakers that they could share a portion of the profits with him after the film’s release if the project was successful.

Builds strong pre-release hype

Directed by Harish Shankar, the film has already created a lot of buzz among fans and trade circles. With a top star, a commercial director and high audience expectations, ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ is among the most awaited films. According to industry watchers, the producers will recover a huge amount from theatrical and non-theatrical works before its release. The pay cut became a point of discussion, with many viewing it as a gesture reflecting his long relationship and trust with the producers.
