Paul Rudd Auctions for 'Avengers: Doomsday' Premiere Tickets; Raises $100,000 for Mercy Children's Hospital

Hollywood star Paul Rudd made headlines over the weekend after he auctioned off an exclusive premiere experience for “Avengers: Doomsday” during the annual Big Slick charity event in Kansas City.The actor bid high for two tickets to the Los Angeles premiere of “Avengers: Doomsday,” access to the film’s after-party, and the chance to attend the event as his guest. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Al-Rahma Children’s Hospital.

According to reports from the event, the winning bidder is a long-time Big Slick supporter who attends annually and regularly contributes to charitable causes.

Organizers reportedly described the $100,000 bid as the highest amount ever paid for a single auction item in their fundraiser.

A video of the auction later circulated online with the caption “An incredible amount of money was raised for Children’s Mercy Hospital but that was WILD! Winning bid of $100,000 to attend the premiere of Marvel’s Avengers Doomsday with Paul Rudd.”

The charity auction comes amid growing excitement surrounding the “Avengers: Doomsday” movie. Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo sent fans into a frenzy over the weekend as they shared mysterious Doctor Doom-inspired images, including a full look at the Latverian flag. In Marvel Comics, Latveria is ruled by an iconic villain played by Robert Downey Jr., who is expected to play a central role in the upcoming film. Fans have suggested that the teaser could be linked to the Russo Brothers’ appearance at SXSW London, where they are scheduled to participate in panels on June 2 and attend a screening of “Avengers: Infinity War.”

According to social media buzz, the highly anticipated trailer, which debuted at CinemaCon, could premiere online during SXSW in London or even debut alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is currently scheduled for a July 31 release.

Meanwhile, Marvel fans can look forward to the theatrical return of “Avengers: Endgame” on September 25. The re-release is expected to include new footage designed to connect the events of Endgame to the “Avengers: Doomsday” story.Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18.
