Unless Patrick Dempsey has a tattoo that no one knows about, it’s hard to imagine a better bet to replace Graham Blatner as the Democratic Senate candidate in Maine.
Besides his deep roots in the state — Dempsey was born in Old Town Lewiston, grew up in rural hillside Turner, and now owns an estate in Kennebunkport, the affluent beach enclave where the Bushes famously spent their summers — he’s garnered more name recognition than any other candidate, and certainly looks more like a senator than anyone else in the race — or, for that matter, in Washington.
Silver hair, square jaw, piercing green eyes — the “I had a McDreamy” campaign signs practically write themselves.
