Married with Tent Poles: Tom and Zendaya’s Celebrity Honeymoon

Tom Holland and Zendaya are clearly taking the whole For Better or For Worse thing seriously, at least in theaters.

The newlywed actors happen to be starring together in two of the summer’s biggest tentpoles – Odyssey and Spider-Man: A Brand New Day – which opens just weeks away. As far as Rampling can determine, this is the first time this has happened since, well, ever.

Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor managed to achieve something similar in 1963 VIP and Cleopatraalthough these films were released three months apart and only one of them was a major hit in history. They were also not married at the time, at least not to each other, and were scandalously cheating on their spouses together. Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward got close to each other in 1958 – the year they married – but Long hot summer and Rally around the flag, guys! They were released eight months apart and neither set the box office on fire.

Before Newman and Woodward, you have to go back to 1948 to find another double feature film by the pair, when Fredric March and Florence Eldridge appeared together inAnother part of the forest Then four months later Murder law. Neither picture was a hit, but then again, neither had a $250 million budget or a guy in spandex tights.
