Parmeet Sethi reveals that his mother was shot during Partition, and the bullet remained in her body for a year or two: “No one knew where it was.”

Parmeet Sethi, Archana Puran Singh and their children Aryaman and Ayushmann are very popular on social media through their YouTube channel. In a new vlog, Parmeet revealed that his mother, Sushil Sethi, was accidentally shot as a child while living in what is now Pakistan, and the bullet remained stuck inside her body for about two years because medical technology at the time was limited. In a video shared on Aary Vlogs, Parmeet recalled his mother preparing one of her recipes with his son Aryaman Sethi. Describing Sushil as “quite filmi”, he noted that the family first moved to Ahmedabad after Partition before eventually settling in Mumbai.Recalling the horrific incident, Parmeet said, “During Partition, she was hit by a bullet. She was hit by a bullet.” Although he did not mention the city they were living in at the time, he revealed that his mother was only about 10-12 years old when the accident happened.Explaining the circumstances, he said: “There was a tailor who came to their house to sew clothes, and my grandfather’s house had a gun, so he sneaked into the house to steal the gun, and wanted to use it during the riots.”Parmeet also shared that his mother woke up after hearing voices inside the house. “He asked her not to make any noise and she was about to scream so he shot her,” he recalled.Since medical facilities were limited during that period, doctors could not trace the bullet immediately.

“The bullet was wandering around her body. No one knew where it was,” Parmeet said, adding that his mother had been ill for about two years and had to stay out of school during that time.By then, the family had moved to India. And remember how the bullet was eventually discovered unexpectedly. “One day, the nurse was massaging her and the bullet almost came out of her back. They immediately took her to the doctor.

She underwent surgery and the bullet was removed. “That was after a year or two.”In another old video posted on Archana Puran Singh’s YouTube channel, Parmeet and Archana also talked about how they kept their marriage a secret for almost eight years. For this reason, they continued to address each other’s parents as “Uncle” and “Auntie.”“We didn’t want anyone to know that we were married,” Archana said, adding, “So the uncle and aunty are still going on.

“Everyone is happy about that.”Parmeet’s mother died a few years ago. In an earlier interview with Instant Bollywood, Archana also recalled the difficult moment when she learned about her mother-in-law’s death while she was in the middle of shooting a comedy show.“There was a comedy show, and I think we had filmed half the episode when I found out my mother-in-law had died. I told them I had to go, but they told me to just watch the show.

I laughed and imagined in my head what would happen now that my mother-in-law had just died. I don’t know how I laughed. After spending 30-40 years in this industry, you know that product money is in this. You cannot leave your work unfinished.

My husband understood too. Everything became dark, and I could not see anything; They just said “work,” and I laughed and laughed. I thought, who would have such a fate that would have to laugh even after hearing such news… But the show must go on.”
