The ever-busy Tyler Perry has set a new firefighter drama, Tyler Perry Where There’s Smokeon Netflix.
the physically Director Tyler Lepley has cast him to play Owen, Mike Merrill will play Cameron, DaVinci (BMF, All American) will play Noah, and Eltonie Williams will play Jermaine.
The 16-episode show will “follow the lives of a group of firefighters as they navigate the extreme challenges of their high-stakes profession while grappling with personal conflicts, fractured relationships, and the emotional toll of saving lives in a world filled with danger, drama, and heartbreak,” according to a synopsis from producers.
The series will be filmed in Atlanta and will star Brooke O’Hearn, Joe Hunter, Karen Opelom, Brittany S. Hall, Maria Judy, Jordan Rodriguez, and Jodi Munn as Darcy. Where there is smoke The series comes from an ongoing creative partnership between Perry and Netflix, with the prolific director writing, directing and producing feature films and television series under a multi-year first look deal.
Angie Bones and Tony Strickland are producing Where there is smoke for Tyler Perry Studios and follows other Netflix projects such as Tyler Perry’s beauty in black, Which was recently renewed for a third season. Other projects with Netflix include Perry writing, directing and producing a World War II-era film six triple eight, Starring Kerry Washington, a legal drama Mia Culpaopposite Kelly Rowland.
Perry previously worked with Netflix on its period drama Blues music for jazzmanexciting story A fall from grace and Return home financially — The twelfth batch in his country physically Movie franchise.
