“It definitely made me realize that just existing as a woman in this space is something people comment on,” Alcock said recently. And elsewhere in her interview with VFAlcock was also asked about legendary directors Martin Scorsese and Ridley Scott’s criticism of the superhero genre. Scorsese has previously said that these types of films are “not cinema” and compared them to “theme parks”, while Scott described them as “very boring”.
“I understand,” she replied. “They’ve been around all along and they make great films. … Not every film is for everyone. The beauty of art is that you can be eclectic.”
Supergirl It will be in theaters on June 26. It follows Alcock’s Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, as she joins an unlikely companion on an interstellar journey for revenge and justice when an unexpected adversary strikes too close to home.
