Mel Brooks had a galactic announcement at CinemaCon: the title of the upcoming film Space balls sequel. No, it’s not Spaceballs 2: Searching for more money.

In 2024, Gad teased the sequel in an Instagram post. “I just turned in a movie script that I think might be the funniest and best thing I’ve ever worked on and I’m so excited,” Gad captioned the post at the time. He added that working with Summitt and Hernandez “was heaven on Earth and many other planets as well. Love you guys!”
CinemaCon is the annual event for Hollywood exhibitors and studios that takes place this year from April 13-16. It’s the official convention of Cinema United.
