Vijay and Dhoni also have an interesting cinematic connection. In Vijay’s 2024 blockbuster film ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu, archived IPL footage features MS Dhoni in one of the sequences.
The footage also includes other cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad.Although Dhoni did not shoot a new cameo for the film, the sequence influenced the climax of the film. Many fans even joked on social media that Vijay “saved” Dhoni in true GOAT style, with the climax revolving around the actor taking down a villain who planted a bomb in the stadium where Dhoni is playing.
