Musical adaptation of Warriors It will come to Broadway this spring.

The musical, co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Issa Davis, marks Miranda’s first theatrical release since Hamilton, which opened on Broadway in 2015 and remains a top box office performer. Warriors The film is based on the 1979 Paramount film, which has become a cult classic, and Saul Jurick’s 1965 novel.

Warriors Previews will begin at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in March 2027. Casting for the musical has not yet been announced.

The album follows a New York City gang who must travel through the city after being framed for the murder of Cyrus, a respected rival gang leader. However, in Miranda and Davis’ version women play all the roles of gang members.

The two released a concept album for the 2024 show featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Marc Anthony, Billy Porter, Ghostface Killah, RZA, Colman Domingo, Cam’ron, Kim Dracula and others.

The musical will be directed by Jenny Kunz, and co-directed and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, who choreographed the show. Hamilton.

The show will be produced by Thomas Kail (who directed Hamilton), Lin-Manuel Miranda and his father, Luis A. Miranda Jr. and Jeffrey Sellers, producer Hamilton. Warriors Featuring scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Dede Aite, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Jason Crystal, and projection design by Hannah S. Kim, musical supervision by Kurt Crowley and the Kurt Crowley Orchestra, Scott Wasserman and Mike Elizondo.
