Janhvi Kapoor has spoken candidly about dealing with social media culture and the online harassment that often targets her and her half-brother Arjun Kapoor. In a recent interview, the actress said that the internet’s opinion doesn’t hold much weight for her anymore.Speaking about how social media works, Janhvi told Grazia: “From what I understand about social media culture, everyone wants fame, views and exposure, so if they are making content about you, you are just a scapegoat. They are just using your name to attract clicks, bait rage and anything else to boost their engagement. That is the only purpose it serves, and once you look at it from that lens, you will understand that what they are saying about you has nothing to do with you. Do with you.”

Then you start taking it less to your heart.

“It’s hurtful… there is no excuse for this behavior.”

Janhvi admitted that even though she has learned to break up, it is painful to watch this kind of trolling in her brother’s faces.“Everyone is doing what they have to do, sab ghar chalane ki koshish kar rahe hai (They’re trying to make ends meet). It has to be transactional – nothing is that deep. It’s stupid to occupy your mind for more than five minutes with this. Of course, it hurts when you feel misunderstood, or when it turns into bullying and harassment, the way I’ve seen it happen with my brother sometimes, and there’s no excuse for that kind of behaviour.”

“Negativity feeds negativity, and you just have to pull yourself out of it,” she said.Over the past few months, Arjun’s Instagram posts have often attracted negative comments about his acting and films. Last month, the actor shared an emotional message on his late mother Mona Shourie Kapoor’s birth anniversary, admitting that life has been “rough” for him lately but assuring fans that he will be okay. Afterwards, many users expressed their support, urging others to refrain from hate comments and sarcasm.
