Colleen Hoover looks at It Ends With Us in a new way after the legal drama starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

A few months after the film’s release, Lively filed a lawsuit against her co-director and star Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment, retaliation, and creating a hostile work environment in a complaint. Baldoni denied her allegations and filed a defamation suit against the company new york times, Which published the actress’s complaint. A legal battle is taking place between the spouses in court.
On Thursday’s episode of open book, Jenna Bush asked Hager Hoover if it was difficult to have a film about issues close to her included in the drama.
“It is, but it’s easier to separate them because I look at how successful it is,” Hoover said. “On opening weekend, we were all blown away by how many readers came to the movie and how successful it was and how resonant it was. I’m very proud of this movie. I think the actors and the directors and everyone did such a good job of making me look at everything else separate from the movie, from the book.”
She added that it was “unfortunate”, but that she was “so grateful that we were able to see it in action.”
