Colleen Hoover looks at It Ends With Us in a new way after the legal drama starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

On Thursday’s episode of open book, Jenna Bush asked Hager Hoover if it was difficult to have a film about issues close to her included in the drama.

“It is, but it’s easier to separate them because I look at how successful it is,” Hoover said. “On opening weekend, we were all blown away by how many readers came to the movie and how successful it was and how resonant it was. I’m very proud of this movie. I think the actors and the directors and everyone did such a good job of making me look at everything else separate from the movie, from the book.”

She added that it was “unfortunate”, but that she was “so grateful that we were able to see it in action.”
