Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
The legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appears to have had a beginning and a middle, but no clear end. The former couple’s relationship began amid controversy and divided public opinion, and years after their separation, legal disputes continued in courts across multiple jurisdictions.
Pitt and Jolie married at Chateau Miraval in France but filed for divorce just two years later in 2016. Although they were declared legally single in 2019, issues regarding custody remained unresolved for years.
Jolie alleged in court documents that Pitt physically and verbally assaulted her and their children during a private trip, which she said caused lasting trauma. Pitt has consistently denied the allegations.
Jolie was initially awarded primary custody, while Pitt was granted temporary visitation rights in 2016 and then temporary joint custody in 2021. However, this ruling was later overturned. Today, all of their children are either adults or approaching adulthood, making traditional custody arrangements largely irrelevant.
