Gwen Stefani is one public figure who never holds back when it comes to her personal life. Her fans know the highs and lows that have shaped her music, but there is one chapter she speaks about now with some awe: becoming pregnant with her third child at the age of 44.
Call it a miracle, and it’s hard to disagree.
What happened?
On Page Six, Gwen Stefani recalled a time in her life when she felt like she had passed up her chances of having another child. But everything changed after she had what she calls a spiritual epiphany. She spoke about this moment recently, saying it changed the way she saw everything and ultimately led to the pregnancy she no longer hoped for. Now, during a recent interview with Hallow: Prayer and Meditation, Gwen has spoken out in detail about how unexpected this third pregnancy was.
She recalled feeling like she was too old to have another child. Around that time, I began having deep conversations with a man I worked with, someone who had been an atheist Jew before converting to Judaism.“He was studying Torah, and he had a great epiphany, and he started talking to me about Torah.”She was desperate at the time, because she “really wanted to have another baby. I already did. I couldn’t, I was too old.”
Stefani, now 56, revealed. Moreover, her eldest son, Kingston, begged her for a little brother or sister. She said to him gently: “I’m sorry, your mother is too old to have a child.” Kingston, who was eight at the time, began praying every night to have another child.Just a few weeks later, Gwen found out she was pregnant with Apollo.“Four weeks later, I was pregnant with Apollo,” Stephanie shared.
“I had him when he was 44, of course,” she said, describing it as “a complete gift. That was the first miracle.”Looking back, she says it seemed like something more than a coincidence, as if it was supposed to happen at exactly the right time.
Gwen Stefani and her extended family
Gwen Stefani has always lived a big, messy, and beautiful life. She shares her three children, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, with her ex-husband, musician Gavin Rossdale. They married in 2002, separated in 2016, and the church annulled their marriage a few years later.By the time Apollo arrived, Gwen had already been a star for decades. She first made waves as the frontwoman of No Doubt, the ska-punk band that delivered ’90s anthems like “Don’t Speak,” “Just a Girl” and “Spiderwebs.” With the song “Tragic Kingdom” she became one of pop rock’s most recognized voices. In the 2000s, she broke out as a solo artist with songs like “Hollaback Girl” and “What Are You Waiting For?” And “Rich Girl.”After her breakup with Rossdale, Gwen’s life took another sharp turn. She met Blake Shelton on The Voice, and they eventually fell in love with each other. They were married in 2021 at Blake’s farm in Oklahoma, in a small church he built just for them. The recognition of her marriage by the Catholic Church was a huge relief for Gwen, and meant even more to celebrate with her children. Now, Blake has taken on the role of stepfather and has built a close relationship with her sons, and he and Gwen say their family brings them happiness and stability.
