Netflix moves expected release date Narnia Film directed by Greta Gerwig. The film will get a wide theatrical release, a first for the operator.
Gerwig’s adaptation of the sixth book in the CS Lewis fantasy series, The magician’s nephewwas scheduled to open in Imax theaters this Thanksgiving before heading to the streamer on Christmas Day. The film will now be released on February 12, 2027, and then will be released on Netflix on April 2, 2027. (Speed previews will begin on February 10, 2027, only in Imax.)
With its earlier release date, the studio was planning an exclusive global Imax screening for two weeks in 90 countries across 1,000 theaters before the film debuts on the service. With its new release date comes news that Netflix is planning a wide theatrical release for the film, which will see The magician’s nephew Stay in theaters for several weeks.
