Last spring, podcast host and entertainment journalist Josh Horowitz interviewed Ryan Gosling Hail Mary project When the star interrupted with an important request.

Since its debut in February, the podcast — a bite-sized video in which Horowitz chats with notable names (and their puppies) at a dog-friendly house in Los Angeles or near their homes — has become something of a cult favorite among artists.
Stars ranging from Bob Odenkirk to Ginnifer Goodwin to Dylan O’Brien, Johnny Knoxville, Zoey Deutch and Patrick Wilson have brought their pup to the show for a protein-based treat and a Mike Wallace treat (but he’s actually the first).
O’Brien had a notable episode with Tony “megamutt”, Tribeca’s fastest Chihuahua. Goodwin showed off her English Springer Spaniel Digby and his reading tendencies (but the odd annoyance with windshield wipers). Conversation topics chosen by Johnny Knoxville…you don’t want to know.

Bark, a dog lifestyle company that does everything from sending personalized toy and treat packages to chartering a list of dog-friendly flights, believes podcasts help get the message across not just about its services but about the value of bonding and dog ownership in general. The company leaned into the idea that a pet company should try to see the world as much as possible from an animal’s perspective, and even created an (honorary?) canine advisory board while letting the dog direct a commercial. The capsule has a particular viewpoint in which the dogs are shown in their beautiful, messy glory – in contrast to the sterile images at the likes of the Westminster Dog Show.
Horowitz says he’s been pleased with what he’s seen from the response from the public, as well as from the celebrities themselves. “What I discovered very quickly is that it really opened up a new side of the people I was talking to, because you can’t help but be yourself with your dog,” said longtime MTV film correspondent and Happy sad confused says the host Hollywood Reporter. “They open something inside you.”
Horowitz, who along with his wife became dog parents during the coronavirus crisis thanks to a Connecticut rescue called Lucky Dog, actually shot a pilot in a dog pod with Rachel Ziegler about a year ago; It quickly turned into Who is a good guest? With barking.
On the occasion of the new season. THR Horowitz (Lucy) and two of last season’s guests, Goodwin (Digby) and Wilson (Mabel, Eddie and Louise), asked some important questions. These are their responses:
If you could get your dog to read and understand one book, which book would it be and why?
Wilson: It’s probably one of those scientific books on dog behavior and just ask if any of it is actually true.
Goodwin: The wind in the willows. I feel like Digby could benefit from this peaceful state when people come to work in our garden.
Horowitz: Any dog training book. I didn’t read anything and hence my dog’s unique and charming personality.
If AI could translate your dog’s thoughts into speech, would you want to hear them? What’s the most surprising non-treatment-related thing you expect them to say?
Horowitz: This would be a disaster because Lucy would immediately confirm my fears of being second only to my wife.
Goodwin: Other shoes look better though.
What are the distinctive features of a dog’s head?
Wilson: Everyone can urinate outside. (but he just pees)
Goodwin: Executive orders for nap times.
What’s one thing you learned from your dog today?
Horowitz: Lucy reminds me every day to find joy in the little things – a nice walk, good food (well any food), and naps.
What Hollywood movie could benefit the most from a dog character and why?
Horowitz: Fast and furious. They’ve gone into space. It’s time for the driving dog.
Wilson: Raiders of the Lost Ark. That would make up for the monkey’s death. or Water world.
People’s names or silly dog names, and why is the other party wrong?
Horowitz: All is well but I’m partial to an ancient human name.
Goodwin: There are no wrong names for dogs.
Wilson: I would like to make a presentation on dog names for humans. There’s a UFC fighter named Fluffy, but I don’t know many people named Spot or Peanut.
What’s the one thing you would say to a non-dog person to show them the error of their ways?
Wilson: You don’t have a heart.
Goodwin: I’m sorry.
