Dhanush for the rights of ‘Drishyam’ and Mohanlal’s admiration

Dhanush said, “I really wanted to buy the rights of Drishyam. You must be wondering how I was going to cope with the lead role as it is a mature character. I either wanted to act or at least produce the film. Drishyam is a great film and deserves a lot more accolades and appreciation than it has already received.”“My best wishes to legendary director and actor Mohanlal sir, who is my favorite actor, for coming up with such a film,” he added.

The actor’s statements highlighted his respect for Malayalam cinema and the depth of its storytelling.

Dhanush’s limited association with Malayalam films

Dhanush also spoke about his limited association with Malayalam films so far. “His association with Malayalam films so far has been only through Thomson K. Thomas’ ‘Kamath and Kamath’, where the actor was seen in a guest appearance. However, Dhanush said he would like to do a full-fledged character in M-Town. “I really don’t mind if it’s a good script; For me, language is not a criterion for choosing films.”

He linked his passion to Kerala with its nature and food. “I have been to Kochi, Alappuzha, Trivandrum and Kannur. Kerala is known for its natural beauty. I enjoy eating kappa. Since I am a vegetarian, I cannot eat kappa with fish curry, so I eat it with pickle. Idiyappam and kadala curry are some of my favourites.”When asked about his viral song Why This Kolaveri Di, he said, “I avoid listening to Kolaveri Di; I run away when it is played. I have not done anything to get this kind of appreciation and I don’t think the song also deserves this kind of appreciation.”
