the Clayface The teaser trailer has arrived.
The first footage (below) from the intriguing project from DC Studios follows an up-and-coming actor (Tom Rhys Harris) whose face is mutilated by a gangster. As a last resort, he turns to scientist (Naomi Ackie), who turns his body into clay.
Body horror film directed by James Watkins (Speak no evil) is based on a script by Sleep doctor Director Mike Flanagan with Hossein Amini. In February, DC Studios co-president James Gunn told reporters that the studio “has no plans [to make] A Clayface “But then Flanagan delivered a script and it’s one of the best scripts we’ve read.”
Like Todd Phillips’ 2019 hit song jokerthe project will serve as an origin story for the Batman villain and is also expected to carry an R rating. Unlike jokerand its 2024 sequel, the project is part of the DC Universe and not a stand-alone universe.
“Clayface “It may not be as widely known as The Penguin or The Joker, but we really feel that its story is just as resonant and compelling and, in many ways, scarier than one of those stories,” DC Studios co-president Peter Safran said. Gunn added that the film will feel “absolutely real” and will be “true, psychological, physical and gruesome horror.”
Clayface It’s set to capitalize on a terrible season at the box office, arriving in theaters on October 23. However, first up to DC is Supergirlwhich will launch on June 26. The duo are seen as the second wave of theatrical projects for Gunn and Safran since last year’s success, Superman.
