Actor Anthony Varghese has responded after a fake social media page posted misleading claims regarding his latest release ‘Kattalan’. The controversy surfaced soon after the film hit theaters on its final day.The page, which operates under the name Antony Varghese Fans Club, claimed that there was a deliberate attempt to damage the film through organized negative reviews online.

The page also claimed that the review attacks were linked to Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 3’ PR team.Anthony Varghese addressed the issue through his Instagram stories and distanced himself from the page.

Anthony Varghese clarifies the fake fan page claims

Anthony Varghese clarified in his statement that the page has nothing to do with him or his official fan groups.The actor wrote, “It has come to my attention that a fake Facebook page posted under the name of my ‘fan page’ is distributing posts and spreading false information. Please note that this page is completely unauthorized and has no relation to me or my actual fan community. They are intentionally spreading fake news to create unnecessary claims and drama.”The actor also asked followers not to encourage the page by sharing its content or interacting with it.

Anthony added: “Do not believe, share or engage with anything posted there. Thank you to everyone who brought this to my attention! Stay safe.”

Meanwhile, actor Raj Terandasu, who plays Maari in ‘Kattalan’, recently spoke about his experience filming with real elephants during the film’s shoot.Raj, who previously appeared in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise, described the action scenes involving elephants as one of the toughest parts of his acting career.“It was really scary at times because we were working with real elephants who had already been part of other film shoots. One little mistake and things could have gone completely wrong,” he told ETimes.The actor further explained that the unpredictability of the animals added realism to the action sequences.“Somewhere, the unpredictability gave the work a completely different energy. You can’t fake those reactions or emotions on screen,” Raj added.

Despite the controversy, Catalan managed to record a strong opening at the box office.According to Sakneelak, ‘Kattalan’ has collected a net collection of Rs 3.40 crore on the first day across 3,358 shows nationwide. The film’s gross collection in India currently stands at Rs 3.91 crore, while the India net total remains at Rs 3.40 crore after the opening day.
