'Do Deewane Seher Mein': CBFC removes word from Mrinal Thakur's scenes with Siddhant Chaturvedi - Reports

The Central Board of Film Certification recently muted the word ‘b***s’ on two occasions from the Mrinal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’. These amendments were made before the grant of U/A 13+ certificate.

‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ opened in theaters today after clearing the Central Board of Film Certification with a U/A 13+ certificate. Before the release, the board muted the word “b***s” twice in the film. Both lines are delivered by Mrinal Thakur’s character Roshni. One appears in a fun exchange at the beginning of the story.

Another comes in a scene where her character talks about beauty standards. The amendments were made before the certificate was issued on February 18. Approved runtime is 137 minutes 41 seconds.

The Censor Board has muted the dialogue of ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has removed the word from both the audio and subtitle. Reportedly, the film has no sexual elements except for a small kiss. It also narrates the action in a comedic tone without the gore.

An industry source told the outlet, “Ideally, a film like this should have passed with a ‘U’ certificate. It could qualify for a U/A 7+ rating or even a U.”The first muted line comes during a lighter moment between Siddhant Chaturvedi’s character, Shashank and Roshni. He asks her what he lacks and she responds with a censored word. A second example appears in a more serious scene involving commentary on aesthetic norms.

Bollywood Hungama also mentions the opening scene where Roshni complains about the guy she met. Because family members were present in the scene, the profanity used in the exchange was not clearly heard in the film.

CBFC Certification and Movie Details

Censor certificate was granted two days before the release of the film. Director Ravi Udyawar has completed the formalities before the film hits the screens. The film stars Mrinal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles and combines romance with light humour.Even with the muted moments, the story remains intact. Audiences in theaters recognize short pauses where the actual word is spoken. The changes have fueled debate about how far filmmakers can go with language in films aimed at families, especially when the film has a soft, non-violent tone.
