Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Some new footage was captured at CinemaCon, where Sony shared a look at the upcoming trilogy.
As part of Monday night’s show, directors Justin K. Thompson and Bob Persichetti to writers and producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller on stage, as Miller promised it was “the most emotional.” Spider verse movie we’ve ever made” and Lorde described it as “the most exciting”. In the new footage, Miles is shown tied up and trying to make his way to freedom, when he’s approached by another version of himself – who he also calls Miles Morales but says he can call “the bum.” Both are puzzled by the discovery of multi-verse identities and fight over the different ways they pronounce “Morales”—and with what degree of accent—and each other’s fashion senses.
Miles continues to fight, until the original warns that he doesn’t want to hurt his captors, and they laugh – until electricity flows through his hands and he escapes free. Sony has also provided an impressive set of pieces from throughout the film, showcasing a wide range of animation styles as Miles fights battles within and outside of himself, joined by his side characters from previous films.
