'Badshah hoga apne ghar ka': A fresh summons has been issued against the rapper over his song 'Tateeree' by the Haryana State Commission for Women

The Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) has issued another summons to rapper Badshah over the controversy surrounding his Haryanvi song “Tateeree”, which has been criticized for containing objectionable references to women and minors.Officials said that the committee sent a new notice after the singer did not appear before it earlier. He has now been asked to come in and explain the intent behind the song’s lyrics. The matter is scheduled to be heard on March 13 at the DC office in Panipat, where HSCW Chairman Renu Bhatia will preside over the proceedings. The dispute erupted shortly after the song was released earlier this month. Many social groups and activists have claimed that both the words and images depict women and contain references that sexualize school-going girls.

Organizations like Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti and Shiv Aarti India Foundation have filed formal complaints demanding action against the singer and those involved in the production of the video.

After learning about the complaints on its own, the commission launched an investigation and issued summons to the artist, whose real name is Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia. HSCW said it would review whether the song’s content violated norms related to women’s dignity and representation.

Commenting on the issue, Renu strongly criticized the song and termed it disrespectful to the “daughters of Haryana”. She said such language in popular music could not be accepted, and warned that if the singer did not cooperate with the investigation, the committee might recommend restrictions on his performances in the state. She also described the song as “intolerant” and “insulting” and added: “Badshah hoga apne ghar ka (May be his kind of house).”

The controversy has also led to legal action. Haryana Police has registered an FIR over the alleged words and visual images in the music video. Investigators are also looking into other aspects of the production, including the alleged unauthorized use of a Haryana Roadways bus seen in the video.Amid the backlash, Badshah issued a public apology via video message, saying he never meant to hurt anyone’s feelings, especially those of Haryanvis.

He also confirmed that the song has been removed from online platforms following the uproar.Authorities said the committee would review the complaints along with the singer’s explanation during the next hearing before deciding whether to take further action.Badshah also apologized after HSCW issued a summons to him. He said in a video: “I never meant to say anything objectionable against any woman or child from Haryana. I am the type of hip-hop where lyrics often come across as disparaging of rivals. These lyrics are never directed at any woman or child.” He concluded the video with an apology, saying, “I have always tried to take the Haryanvi language and culture to new heights. But if anyone is hurt, I demand an apology.”

I expect you will forgive me as a son of Haryana.”
