'Avengers: Doomsday' premiere set to debut at CinemaCon amid star-studded showing of 'Spider-Man', 'The Odyssey' and more

The wait for an official look at “Avengers: Doomsday” may be over next weekend! Amid much buzz around the upcoming Marvel superhero movie, reports now indicate that the first look is set to be revealed at CinemaCon on April 16.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Marvel film, which has been largely kept under wraps, is expected to take center stage during Disney’s panel at the event.

Industry insiders point out that the film is already “exploding” in long-running and box office tracking next December with $1 billion in guaranteed revenue. This makes the CinemaCon debut an opportune moment for the studio to offer the first substantial glimpse of the film and showcase its box office potential. This comes after the game makers ditched the usual Super Bowl trailer this year. This was the first time in over a decade that Marvel skipped a trailer, opting instead to release a trailer online. This in turn apparently helped “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” set a new record and become the first trailer for a movie to surpass 1 billion views online.Disney, which has traditionally relied on footage-driven presentations, is now expected to bring in major star power to help launch its film slate.

While “Avengers: Doomsday” will likely take the spotlight given the secrecy surrounding the project, this year’s event, which will be held at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace, will attract some of the biggest names in the business. Filmmakers like Christopher Nolan and Steven Spielberg are rumored to be appearing to promote their films “The Odyssey” and “Disclosure Day.” Actors including Zendaya, Matt Damon,

Tom Holland

Timothée Chalamet and

Tom Cruise

among other things, are expected to be on the committee. Films in the Star Wars slate, including The Mandalorian & Grogu, directed by Jon Favreau and scheduled for release in May, as well as Starfighter due out next year and starring Ryan Gosling, are expected to be other big attractions. “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Dune: Part 3” are currently expected to clash at the box office, with both films scheduled to be released on December 18. Rumors circulating claim that “Doomsday” may only advance a week for the film’s December 11 release, giving it a clear window and a week’s run on IMAX screens before making way for “Dune: Part Three.”
