Aparshakti Khurana House: Farah Khan calls it an 'Om Shanti Om mix' in Bhansali style with unpainted walls and burnt doors

Film director and choreographer Farah Khan recently invited fans to the artistic and unconventional Mumbai residency of actor Aparshakti Khurana and his wife Akriti Khurana. In a recent vlog, Farah Khan explored the couple’s home, which she called “a combination of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Om Shanti Om.” The tour, featuring the distinct wit of Farah and her personal chef Dilip, showcased a space that defies conventional luxury in favor of a “beautifully chaotic” old-movie aesthetic. Aparshakti Khurana has gone from being an RJ to starring in films with notable performances in ‘Dangal’, ‘Stree’, ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ and ‘Stree 2’, along with the serial ‘Jubilee’. He is also the younger brother of Ayushmann Khurrana.

Aparshakti Khurana House – Vintage aesthetic with a cool twist

The vlog began with a detailed breakdown of the interiors. Farah immediately noticed the artistic elements. These features set the overall mood of the home. One standout detail was the large blue chandelier in the living room. It added a dramatic visual effect. The piece echoed the extravagance seen in “Om Shanti Om”. The interiors followed a vintage theme. They bore a slightly ornate appearance. The walls and ceilings were intentionally left unpainted.

Farah pointed out that this incomplete style is popular. It adds character and depth to modern homes.

The burning door that caught Farah Khan’s attention

As the tour continued the focus shifted to the main entrance. The door stood out because of its unusual finish. Aparshakti explained the idea behind this, saying: “This wooden door was burned after being painted. The fire gave it an aesthetic appeal.” Moving inside, the couple revealed an entryway filled with framed childhood photos.

The vlog also included their makeup room. A multi-purpose space was also featured. Aparshakti uses it for reading, exercises and preparation.
