Akshay Kumar is all set to release Bhooth Bangla, a special project that will reunite him with director Priyadarshan after 14 years. The film also marks his collaboration with veteran actor Asrani, who died in October 2025 at the age of 84. Akshay shared an emotional note on social media, along with a picture of them together on the sets.

On Wednesday, April 15, Akshay took to his Instagram account and wrote, “Kabhi kabhi ek tasveer sirf yaadon ka tukda nahi hoti…ek poor trip ko samet leti hai. Yeh photo humari bhooth Bangla kishoot se hai…Asrani ji ke saath meri second last movie. Total 12 movies humne saath ki, aur har ek mein maine Unse kuch naya seekha…it was a masterclass every time.”

Moreover, Kumar added, “Itni aasaan lagti thi jab woh karte the comedy, lekin asal mein woh ek mushkil kala hai.
Asrani ji uske ustad the aur hamesha rahenge. Bhooth Bangla release kal ho rahi hai… mere liye yeh sirf ek film nahi, ek yaad hai… ek tribute hai… ek salute hai uss legend ko. Asrani ji, ab hamisha yad aaying.”

Akshay Kumar collaborated with Priyadarshan for the last time in 2010 for the film ‘Khatta Meetha’. The horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’ has a great ensemble cast: Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Jishu Sengupta, Manoj Joshi, Mithila Palkar, Rajesh Sharma and Manu Menon. Expect it to hit theaters on April 17, 2026, with paid previews starting at 9pm onwards from April 16.
