A “Tink” series, inspired by Peter Pan’s fairy Tinker Bell, is in the works on Disney+

Disney+ is looking to one of the core pieces of the company’s intellectual property for its next series project.

The streamer has put a show in development called Tink Which will you focus on Peter PanTinker Bell. Liz Heldens (Will Trent(And Bridget Carpenter)11.22.63) They collaborate to write the project.

Tink It’s a priority for Disney+, but it’s in the very early stages — so much so that there’s no rough outline for the project yet. Heldens and Carpenter will executive produce with former Disney Television president Gary Marsh and Heldens’ Selfish Mermaid’s Quinn Haberman.

Tinker Bell, of course, is J.M. Barrie’s pocket-sized fairy Peter Pan He is friendly with the main character but envies Wendy Darling, a newcomer to Neverland. Following the 1953 animated film, Tinker Bell became an unofficial Disney mascot, providing the spark for a number of introductory title cards in Disney television shows and home video releases over the years.

The character has been the focus of several animated films, but the live-action project never took off. Reese Witherspoon was at one point attached to play Tinker Bell in a feature film, but it never came together. A Tink The series had been on Marsh’s to-do list for several years — and was one of the first projects he put together after leaving Disney Branded TV and signing a production deal with the company.

Heldens and Carpenter initially worked together Friday night lights. Heldens is currently an associate director of ABC’s Will Trent; Her credits also include Leakage and Orville. Carpenter’s creation 11.22.63based on and worked on the Stephen King novel for Hulu Western world and fatherhoodamong other offers.

Heldens is repped by WME and Hansen Jacobson. Carpenter is repped by CAA, Artists First, and Schreck Rose.
