Nissan India is all set to unveil the new Nissan Tekton SUV tomorrow, i.e. on July 8, 2026. Nissan is calling the new Tekton ‘Baby Patrol’ and it is expected to carry several Patrol-inspired design elements, including the grille, headlights and other exterior details.
The upcoming model shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Tamil Nadu. Before its official reveal, let’s take a look at everything we know so far.

The new Nissan Tectton will be a flagship product for Nissan India. It is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with models such as Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hider and others.In terms of design, the upcoming SUV will feature a wide front grille with a red horizontal stripe running across it and an illuminated Nissan logo in the middle. The SUV also features a signature full-width LED DRL linked to the headlamp units, which incorporate L-shaped lighting elements. Other exterior features include a sculpted bonnet with prominent character lines, a central hood scoop and a Tekton badge.
At the back, the SUV will have a roof-mounted spoiler, a slanted windshield, C-shaped taillights, and a large bumper.
In terms of dimensions, the SUV is expected to be similar in size to the new Renault Duster, with a length of 4,345 mm, a width of 1,815 mm, a height of 1,703 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,657 mm.The Tekton is expected to share its engine options with the new Duster. A 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The other engine is a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a turbocharger with a power of 163 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, and is coupled to a 6-speed DCT transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
There’s also a larger 1.8-litre hybrid petrol engine with 109 PS, mated to a 49 PS electric motor and a 20 PS hybrid starter generator (HSG), paired with a 1.4 kWh (280 V) battery.
Together, this configuration delivers a combined system power of 160 PS and 172 Nm.Expected features include a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, ventilated and 6-way power front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, multiple driving modes and more.
