Hyundai to launch new mid-size SUVs and local EVs in FY27: Details

Hyundai Motor India has confirmed its plans to launch two all-new SUVs in the country during FY27. The announcement came as part of the company’s financial results for FY 2025-26, where Hyundai also outlined its future plans for growth and expansion in the Indian market.One of the upcoming models will be a new mid-sized SUV powered by an internal combustion engine, while the second product will be a compact electric SUV based on a dedicated domestic EV platform. Hyundai added that the upcoming electric car will represent the first appearance of its local battery electric car in the compact SUV category. The company has not yet revealed names and specific details.

The company is targeting domestic volume growth of 8-10 percent in FY27, supported by new product launches, network expansion and increased production capacity.

Hyundai also expects exports to grow by 8 to 10 percent despite global geopolitical uncertainty.Hyundai said it achieved its highest-ever quarterly domestic sales in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, with wholesale volumes rising 8.7 percent year-on-year. Rural penetration also reached a record level of 25 percent during this quarter. The company also announced its highest ever quarterly contribution to CNG at 18 percent. Hyundai is also expanding manufacturing operations in India. The company announced an additional expansion of 70,000 units at its Pune facility after the development of the second phase. This will take Hyundai’s total annual production capacity in India to 1.14 million units by 2030. As part of its future investment roadmap, Hyundai has also planned a capital expenditure of around Rs 7,500 crore for FY27 to support product development, manufacturing expansion and overall growth in India.
