Jay-Z’s fans were caught on video rushing into Yankee Stadium on Sunday night ahead of the veteran rapper’s third and final performance of three shows at his hometown stadium, which was delayed by about three hours as security moved through the massive crowd that had gathered outside and let in those with tickets, as the crowd already packed inside the venue was told that Jay-Z was waiting to take the stage so everyone who had bought a ticket could enter.
Early in his performance, which was scheduled for Sunday night but began after midnight Monday, Jay-Z apologized for the delay and told the sold-out crowd at the 46,000-seat stadium in the South Bronx that “about 10,000 people” were outside, so security “locked all the doors, and someone ran to the door. They locked the door for your safety and the safety of everyone outside.”
Video posted on X appears to confirm that at least one turnstile at the stadium has been hacked. In footage posted by users @HipHopKlipz36 and @TheRocSupremacy, several young partygoers are seen breaking through the revolving door, and a bottleneck quickly forms, with several individuals becoming stuck in the doorway as a large crowd appears to push them forward.

While some jubilant fans are jumping up and down, excited to get past the turnstile, many other fans are soon in danger behind them. It’s unclear whether the people in the video are ticket holders or unregistered fans trying to get in.
Why is JAY-Z’s show delayed? This happened at multiple entrances. Some didn’t have tickets, and no one was checked. Fortunately, everyone got out safely. pic.twitter.com/McBULCNDKl

About a minute after this dangerous situation arose, security officers and the New York Police Department were seen rushing to the entrance to stop the potential stampede. No injuries were reported during the ceremony.
It is unclear whether this was an isolated incident or whether similar security breaches have already occurred around the stadium’s numerous entrances.
