On July 21, 2022, the actress made her official debut on ‘Koffee with Karan’ and joined popular director Karan Johar on the famous red sofa.
While talking about her career in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Johar ended up asking her frankly about the trend of nepotism in Tollywood, and also asked her about her thoughts on ‘how someone’s son always becomes a lead actor, and someone’s nephew is always supported by the family. They don’t think it matters at all because that’s the order of the day.
There were a few actors, maybe like Vijay Deverakonda who came from abroad and broke through.”
For this, Prabhu spoke her mind and shared that, “Nibo kids, non-Nibo kids, everyone comes with their own demons, and they have their own demons to face.” She also talked about how different circumstances are for actors who start from nothing, versus actors who come from families with an acting background. She added: “For me, when I entered the industry, if I failed, only my mother, father and siblings would know that I failed.
“But when a star kid fails, the whole country knows it.”She also concluded her point by adding that at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you are coming from nowhere or if you belong to an acting family, the ball will always be in the audience’s court as to whether they love and accept you or not.
How did Samantha Ruth Prabhu get started in the entertainment industry?
Samantha Ruth Prabhu came from humble beginnings and started her career in the entertainment industry as a model. While studying commerce at Stella Maris College in Chennai, the actress participated in fashion shows in order to help and provide financial support to her family. In 2010, after some directors approached her for certain roles, she made her official debut in the Tamil film “Ye Maaya Chesave”. After the huge success of her debut role, Prabhu booked films in both Tamil and Telugu cinema, and over the years, she has worked on some of the biggest hits.
Her most famous works over the years include “Yashoda”, “Mersal” and “Maa Inti Bangaram”.
