Pramod Nautiyal was working as a personal assistant in the President’s office. He was issued a show-cause notice on July 3, after the allegations came to light. He has also been attached to BKTC office in Joshimath. Officials said he will not be allowed to leave the headquarters without prior approval, and will be asked to fully cooperate with the ongoing procedures.

The FIR was lodged under BNS Section 306 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) and 316(5) (criminal breach of trust).

BKTC CEO Sohan Singh Ranghar said the committee found Nautiyal’s response to the notice “suspicious” and recommended action against him.
