Police in Chamoli district on Wednesday registered an FIR against an employee of the Shree Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), a day after he was suspended after a preliminary internal investigation found irregularities in the handling of donations at Badrinath Dham.

Pramod Nautiyal was working as a personal assistant in the President’s office. He was issued a show-cause notice on July 3, after the allegations came to light. He has also been attached to BKTC office in Joshimath. Officials said he will not be allowed to leave the headquarters without prior approval, and will be asked to fully cooperate with the ongoing procedures.
