to update: Lauren Bennett’s father has broken his silence regarding the cause of her death:

Richard Bennett wrote on Instagram: “Months before her death, Lauren suffered a severe reaction to a medication prescribed to her. As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her,” adding:

He added: “We are in no doubt as to the circumstances of her death, only profound disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time when she needed it most.”

We have tragic news to report from the music world today.

Lauren Bennett – the British singer best known for her work on LMFAO’s 2011 song “Party Rock Anthem” – has died.

She was only 37 years old.

News of Bennett’s death comes thanks to an announcement from the surviving members of her former group GRL.

The statement read: “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren.”

“Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much you mean to us.

The group continued: “We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched the lives of so many, and we will miss her deeply and love her forever.”

“Rest in peace, dear Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.”

Other sources have since confirmed the tragic news, but Bennett’s cause of death remains a mystery.

Bennett began her career in music when she competed on The X Factor at the age of 14.

The following year, she was selected by Pussycat Girls founder Robin Antin for Paradiso Girls In, formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.

The group had minor international success with their 2009 debut single “Patron Tequila”, which featured Eve and Lil’ Jon, but disbanded shortly afterwards.

Bennett went on to join the group GRL, which scored several hits in Australia and the United Kingdom.

But it was her feature on “Party Rock Anthem” — which spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 1 in 20 different countries — that brought Lauren the biggest success of her career.

15 years after its release, the song remains a staple of film and television soundtracks as well as popular radio stations.

Our condolences to Lauren Bennett’s loved ones during this very difficult time.
