Benedict Jarrett Addresses ‘Toxic’ Teaser Criticisms; He says that audiences accept violence more easily than sensual content

The buzz around Yash’s upcoming thriller ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups’ continues to grow after actor Benedict Garrett addressed the criticism surrounding the recent teaser of the film ‘Ladies & Ladies’.

The supporting actor shared his views during an Instagram Ask Me Anything session.In response to the question, Garrett defended the promotional material while speaking about society’s different reactions to violence and sex in cinema.“I have no idea. I can only assume that people have more problems seeing sex-related content than they do seeing violence, which in my opinion is completely ridiculous,” he said.

Why did the “Toxic” teaser spark controversy?

The recently released ‘Ladies & Ladies’ teaser introduced the main female characters of the film. Soon after the film dropped, sections of social media questioned the way women were being portrayed on screen.The teaser begins with a playful disclaimer directed at children, grandparents and even great-grandparents before moving into a series of stylized sequences. Yash appears for the first time alongside Kiara Advani in an intimate moment on the beach. The images then move to Nayanthara, who is shown riding a motorcycle and confronting armed men.

Through glamorous images that combine romance, mystery and action.Finally, the teaser adopts a darker tone with an intense vision involving Yash and a gun. Fighting for scraps of its devotion.”

The promo concludes with the caption, “Ladies and gentlemen.”

Release plans have been revised again

Apart from the teaser, the film has also remained in the news due to its revised release schedule.The makers of the game have now set August 26 as the global release date. Earlier, the film was expected to hit theaters on March 19 before it was shifted to June 4.
