'Dharman' Featured: Ashwath Marimuthu praises Rajinikanth's 'Padayappa Magic' on sets; Confirms timeline for 'STR 51'

Director Ashwath Marimuthu had another reason to celebrate ‘Dragon’ winning the Best Entertainer award at a recent event. Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu presented the honor, while Ashwath Marimuthu and producer Aishwarya Kalpathi received the award on stage.

While giving his acceptance speech, the director expressed his gratitude to the audience for supporting the film ‘Dragon’ and assured them of the exciting news about his upcoming projects with superstar Rajinikanth and TR Silambarasan.

While discussing his upcoming projects, Ashwath revealed that his collaboration with Silambarasan TR will begin only after the completion of Dharman. “STR is now busy shooting for Arasan,” he said. Once this is over, the production of Rajinikanth’s ‘Dharman’ will end, paving the way for the start of STR 51. The director stressed the huge responsibility he has to bear, given that Dharman stars the legendary Rajinikanth and is produced by Kamal Haasan. He expressed strong confidence that this unique project will resonate deeply with Tamil audiences and moviegoers across the country.

Ashwath Marimuthu also shared his experience of working with Rajinikanth and how he admires the power of the veteran star on the sets. “Ragini sir does not look his age at all,” he said. Today, he still has the same charm and enthusiasm that he had years ago when he starred in ‘Padayappa’. He is always active on sets and makes the atmosphere lively. Watching him perform in front of the camera is an enjoyable experience.” The director’s comments reflected the joy of collaborating with one of the biggest icons of Indian cinema.

Ashwath Marimuthu expresses strong confidence in Dharman

Talking about the film, Ashwath said that he is determined to provide a complete entertainment film for Rajinikanth’s fans. “Dharman will have everything that fans love about Ragini sir – his style, his swag and his screen presence. It is a dream for many directors to make a film with Ragini sir and Kamal Haasan sir. I have this opportunity, and I know the responsibility that comes with it. Dharman will be a blast. On the first day of the shoot, when Ragini sir got out of the car and entered the hospital set, I saw the screen and couldn’t stop cheering.”

About Darman and STR 51

Produced by Kamal Haasan, ‘Dharman’ stars Rajinikanth in the lead, and its production began a few days ago. It also features Simran and Raashi Khanna in the lead roles, while Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to score the music. Meanwhile, ‘STR 51’ marks Ashwath Marimuthu’s first collaboration with Silambarasan TR, and the rest of the cast and crew are expected to be announced once it hits the floors.
